About Hungry Ghost Mahjong
Mahjong solitaire is normally a game against nobody. We added somebody.
The idea
In East Asian traditions, the Hungry Ghost is a spirit that can never quite get enough, always reaching for one more thing. That's the whole game: a ghost that shares your board and wants the same tiles you do, and won't wait for you to think.
Everything else follows from that one twist. Wards exist because you need a way to push back. Séance mode exists because a slower, fully predictable ghost turns the same idea into a puzzle instead of a race. The daily leaderboard exists because the most satisfying version of "beat the ghost" is knowing you beat everyone else's ghost too, on the exact same board.
What's free, and what isn't
The whole game is free to play, in every mode, with no account required to try it. Signing in with Google unlocks the daily leaderboard, where your name and score are ranked against everyone who played that day's board. A small number of extra tries beyond the free daily allowance can be purchased for players who want more than one shot at the top of the board. Nothing purchasable makes anyone a stronger player. It only buys more chances to prove you already are one.
